The problem with the government stonewall of the $800,000 suitcase case is that it leads to a lot of speculation. Here are some new items which have risen to the surface of the Kirchner swamp:
- The plane was chartered by ENARSA, Kirchner's oil money skimming agency, at a cost of $90,000, “because there were not many convenient flights to Caracas,” according to ENARSA. The lack of flights is probably due to the lack of interest in going there among normal people.
- The suitcase contained $790,500, not $800,000. Did someone take out and pocket $9500 to go through Customs legally, or did everyone take out $9500? If you are bundling up hundred dollar bills, how do you end up with that amount?
- There were two vice presidents of PDVSA on board, in addition to the people already named.
- Antonini Wilson has made 12 trips to Argentina during the last year, many of them for only about 24 hours. An international arrest warrant has been issued for him (pictured above). Finger him to Interpol if you see him. No one is sure what country he is in.
- Antonini Wilson has registered at least half a dozen “suitcase companies” in Florida – companies with no assets and no employees and no fixed address. Anybody want to rat him out to the IRS? You get a reward, I hear.
- One of Antonin Wilson’s Venezuelan buddies in Miami, Ricardo Fernandez Barruecos, is the owner of American Food Grains of Miami. One of his planes was confiscated by the DEA on May 17 of this year. The secretary of the company is Wladimir Abad, aka Abad Wladimir, a partner of Antonini Wilson in several of his “companies”.
- Possible destinations for the money discussed here are Cristina Kirchner’s presidential campaign, Kirchner’s piquetero (street thug) groups, bribe money for ENARSA and/or other government officials, leftist paramilitary groups, drugs, etc. No one has mentioned any kind of legitimate purpose for the cash.
- Luis D’Elia, Kirchner’s personal union goon, says that the whole thing was set up by the CIA; one of Chavez’s many ministers agrees. People familiar with the CIA wish they were that good.
- The plane landed at Aeroparque at 2:30 AM. At that time the airport is normally closed. International flights do not land there at any time of day; they land at Ezeiza. A special order was necessary to open the airport at that time, and receive a flight from Venezuela. Customs people had to be sent to the airport to receive the flight. Apparently a low-level customs employee screwed up and found the cash. It then took three days for the incident to be reported to the Justice Ministry.
- The first judge assigned to investigate the case has resigned, saying she was being harassed by the government. She said that she has been subjected to a climate of “moral violence.”
- The head of Customs is a big supporter of Kirchner; that’s how he got his job. There were several “errors” with the paper work related to the bust, which may make it difficult to convict Antonini Wilson or anyone else, or carry on a meaningful investigation. Coincidence?
- Uberti, the guy in charge of freeway concessions, has resigned. The common wisdom is that the biggest sin in the Kirchner government is not stealing, it is getting caught.
- Uberti, from Santa Cruz Province, personally controlled a budget of about $300 million US. He did not build or operate highways; he just controlled the quality of service and maintenance of the privat operators. The large majority of freeway concessions is controlled by four companies, all from Santa Cruz, which is at the very southern tip of Argentina. It is noted for its low human population (300,000 inhabitants), and its high penguin population. Kirchner and his bunch are frequently referred to as “penguins”. Under Uberti, less than 10% of the public’s claims against the highway operators were resolved.
There is a lot of other stuff out there, but some of us have to work for a living, not leaving time for a major investigation of Kirchner corruption, which would be a lifelong task in any case. All of the major corruption incidents in the last year – the cash in the crapper, the cash in the airport, arms trafficking, corruption in the Environment agency, etc., have occurred under the aegis of Julio De Vido, “the cashier”, Kirchner’s best penguin pal. Opposition figures, normally gutless, are smelling the blood and calling for his firing. Cristina Kirchner, the Argentine Hillary Clinton, is getting bummed about her chances of getting elected in October.

Lat week, several security people at the Ezeiza airport were arrested for stealing valuables from checked baggage. They would x-ray it and remove anything of value, such as electronics and jewelry. So if Antonini Wilson had travelled in the other direction, checking his bag of cash in Ezeiza, the money would never have made it, and some security people would be driving new cars to work instead of riding the bus.
